Logitech Mouseman Wireless Mouse
For those who find the Gyropoint somewhat cumbersome and difficult to learn, the Logitech Mouseman may be worth investigating. The Mouseman is roughly the size of your hand and has three buttons and a trackball. These buttons work exactly like the ones on your mouse, and the trackball is very similar to any other standard pointing device. There is an on/off button on the back near the battery compartment. The Mouseman transmits using radio frequency, so line of site transmission is not necessary - you can use it in your pocket in most circumstances. The Logitech software that comes with the mouse allows greater control over certain mouse parameters than the basic control in Windows. For example, the mouse buttons may be assigned just about anything.
Pros: The Mouseman is very easy to learn and use. A major bonus of this mouse when compared with the Gyropoint is that it will not automatically shut down. When the on switch is throw, it stays on until the battery dies. Backstage presentation professionals greatly appreciate this feature.
Cons: There aren't too many bad things to say about the Mouseman. When working with rookie presenters, the three buttons may be confusing. Labeling them can help, but unfortunately presenters seem to forget how to read when they start their presentation. Some people may also feel uncomfortable with the trackball.
Final Say: This is a very good mouse to have in your collection as a technician, and is a prime suspect for presenters when selecting an easy to learn presentation mouse.
