Key RF, by L3 Systems
This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. The Key RF is a RF remote with two buttons and a base station receiver. Instead of using a mouse to control your presentation, the Key RF Receiver connects in line with your keyboard in the case of a full size PC, or just plugged into your laptop's external keyboard port. This allows for technician access to computers without installing something like a Y-Mouse or other periphial. Since it works off of keyboard commands, there isn't a problem with right mouse click menus appearing. You also have the ability to program the buttons to whatever keyboards commands to choose. Although the remote is fairly small and easily lost, its simplicity allows for even the most technically inept executive to learn how to use it in seconds. Because the unit transmits using radio frequencies (RF) line of sight to the transmitter is not needed, so your computer can be neatly tucked away, or you can make your way through the audience. In tests, this unit seemed to work well at distances up to 100 feet, which should be plenty for even the most wandering presenter.
Pros: The Key RF has a good transmitting range, it uses keyboard commands instead of mouse commands, and it is simple to learn and use.
Cons: It is small, very small. Not only could someone easily walk away with this unit, it can also be easily lost along with all the other muck that usually accompanies a show. I have also had complaints on its size from nervous or fidgety presenters.
Final Say: Great for presentations, both from a technical and presentation standpoint.
